The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is releasing next week, and today, CD Projekt RED has revealed those who pre-ordered the game on GOG, Steam, or Xbox One are now able to pre-load it. Pre-orders on PlayStation 4 and Origin will soon allow for pre-loading as well.

Pre-loading only applies to digital copies of The Witcher 3 as it allows customers who pre-ordered to be able to begin downloading the game prior to its launch. Considering The Witcher 3 weighs in at around 35GB, having the option to pre-load that data a week prior to its official release will help a lot of fans jump into it once it unlocks at 1AM CET on May 19. That translates to 8PM ET / 5PM PT on May 18.

If you pre-ordered a physical copy of The Witcher 3, you’ll just have to wait until the game is officially released on May 19.

This week, CD Projekt RED announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received over one million pre-orders worldwide, which means you should probably get your pre-loading in soon since your digital marketplace of choice may slow down quite a bit the day of release.
