Dragon Age: Inquisition will be receiving a free multiplayer expansion that allows players to take on high dragon battles within the all-new Ferelden Castle map.

The Dragonslayer add-on challenges up to four players to make their way through a five-stage map that has randomly generated rooms, treasures, and enemy positions making each visit unlike previous attempts. Those who make their way through the map will be able to take on the high dragon of Ferelden Castle.

Three new characters will be introduced to Inquisition’s multiplayer mode when Dragonslayer is released tomorrow. Avvar Skywatcher is a character players previously encountered during Inquisition’s story, and will now be lending his hamer to its multiplayer component, as well as Dragon Age II’s pirate Isabela and Zither, who is a combat-capable bard that many thought was an April Fool’s joke when BioWare first announced him.

The Dragonslayer free add-on will be available across all platforms Inquisition is available on - PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 - on May 5.

Dragon Age: Inquisition received its first piece of downloadable content in late March when players were able to explore the Jaws of Hakkon, although it was released exclusively on the Xbox One while PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 owners will be getting their fix later this month. Dragonslayer is not only the first multiplayer expansion for Inquisition, but it's also the first piece of free content BioWare and EA has made available for the title. Just be sure to dust off your sword, staff, or daggers prior to taking it on since battles with high dragons are often difficult.
