Scour Lay Offs
by Maarten Goldstein, Sep 02, 2000 9:33am PDTZDNet has a story on how 52 of the 64 employees at Scour (of the file swapping program Scour Exchange) have been fired, because the company is running out of money. With the recent entertainment industry lawsuit against file swapping programs, financial backers have been scared off and so only top management and some engineers are left now. This is the first time any of the lawsuits were the reason for lay offs among companies with file swapping programs.

Well, guess its back to Gnutella..of course they will try and kill that somehow too, the whole point is to make file sharing in any from illegal. (fat chance). Still, I'll use it like a cheap whore until they pull the plug on me. God I hate big business and government..and I'm not even a whinning liberal!

And for all those people that bitch and moan do the following.
1. Get on napster/scour and find a song you like
2. Listen to that song and say, damn thats a good song.
3. Go out to the store and buy that Album/Single
4. Write a letter or call the publisher of said CD
5. Inform them that because of napster they have just MADE MONEY. Let
Them know that you are buying music still; and will continue to do so
even if napster remains alive.
6. Find the website of the artist, write there PR people a nice letter
about how much you like their music. Inform them that you heard it
first on MP3 and decided to support them
7. Sit back in your chair, turn on the CD, drink some beer/water/coffee
8. Realize you dun' good
That is all...
