New Overlord announcement teased for tomorrow

The Overlord series has been quiet for a while, but it looks like Codemasters is ready to bring it back for a new generation. And it appears that it will include four-player multiplayer.

If Dreamworks has taught us anything, it's that minions, through no fault of their own (okay, sometimes through fault of their own) will often wind up without a master to serve. They'll go from master to master, but something will always go wrong and they'll wind up back at square one. The minions from the Overlord series appear to be no different, as indicated by a new video issued by Codemasters.

The next game in the Overlord series has been officially teased, with a 6AM PDT reveal promised for this Thursday, April 23. The new video looks into the history of the series, examining each individual Overlord game. The common factor? Something has always gone wrong to leave the minions starting from scratch. This time around, however, it appears that four new Overlord characters are being teased, hinting at four-player multiplayer, which would be a first for the series.

The tease is available below. Come back tomorrow for the full announcement.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
