Microsoft has announced Remedy Entertainment’s action-game, Quantum Break, is being delayed and will now be expected to release in 2016.

Microsoft head of publishing Shannon Loftis reveals the reason for this shift is due to the company’s lineup of games releasing this holiday season. “We’ve got the strongest games lineup in Xbox history right now, with 2015 blockbuster exclusives like ‘Halo 5: Guardians,’ ‘Rise of the Tomb Raider,’ ‘Fable Legends,’ and ‘Forza Motorsport 6,’” she says in a statement sent to Shacknews.  “With so many games launching this year, moving ‘Quantum Break’ to 2016 extends our incredible portfolio into next year with a monster new IP.”

“The team is taking advantage of this opportunity to polish and fine tune the game to create the kind of standout entertainment experience they’ve come to expect from us,” Remedy creative director Sam Lake says.

With the return of so many well-known franchises on the Xbox One, moving the release of a new IP out of the way of massive games like Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider is a good idea. Considering the unique experience Remedy Entertainment expects to offer in Quantum Break, it’d be best if it would gain as much attention as possible, and the holiday 2015 season definitely isn’t the spot for it.

Not a surprise, same guys that made Alan Wake, which came out five years after it was announced. Since it was announced in 2013 you should probably expect it to come out in 2018. Not that we'll notice since we'll be too busy all having sex with each other.

So after all of that hoopla about that guy that posted that the game would be delayed, turns out that it really is going to be delayed, and guess what? No one is really surprised.

I'm willing to bet money that if that dude hadn't posted that "rumor" a while back,It would've officially been delayed much sooner than now. Seems to me that the devs were just trying to save face because someone that wasn't on their staff jumped the gun on announcing the delay.

The E3 presentation last year made it appear that the theme of that game had changed significantly. Not really excited for that anymore.
