The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth tortures New 3DS, Wii U, and Xbox One in May

A completely uncensored version of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will be torturing New 3DS, Nintendo Wii U, and Xbox One players next month.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will be making its way to the New Nintendo 3DS, Wii U and Xbox One in a few weeks.

Nicholas sent out a press release yesterday claiming The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth would be available next month, but considering the day and the fact the game was originally blocked by Nintendo due to its “questionable religious content,” it was easy for many to assume this was a cruel April Fools’ Day joke. Once it was past midnight on the west coast, creator Edmund McMillien confirmed the news was indeed not a joke and the game is coming to Nintendo platforms and the Xbox One. The Founder of Nicalis also chimed in by saying the game would not be censored in any way.

Unfortunately, the game will not be compatible with the original 3DS or the 2DS, so owners of those handhelds will be out of luck as they won’t be able to play Rebirth when it’s released.

The original The Binding of Isaac was announced back in 2011 with its Rebirth released back in November 2014. PlayStation 4 owners were treated to a free copy of the game, as long as they were PlayStation Plus members, and it’ll soon be owners of the Xbox One, Wii U, and New 3DS to experience what makes the game such a great, yet horrifying, experience in just a few weeks.

To help confirm today's news, a video showing the game being played on the New 3DS was uploaded on Vine:
