Microsoft has announced it will offer double the amount of games as part of its Games with Gold promotion for April, which means Xbox One owners will now get two games and Xbox 360 owners will get four games, all available for free as long as you’re an Xbox Live Gold member.

Xbox One owners will be able to pick up a copy of Pool Nation FX and Ubisoft’s Child of Light all month long starting on April 1. Xbox 360 owners will receive a copy of Gears of War: Judgment and Terraria between April 1 to April 15, with Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel available between April 16 to April 31.

In addition to the announcement of its April Games with Gold lineup, Microsoft has also revealed over 100 million games have been downloaded since the program’s launch. As a result, a total of 5 billion Gamerscore has been earned with Microsoft’s selection of free games.

Sony has yet to announce what it will be making available to its PlayStation Plus members next month, although Microsoft offering double the amount of content is definitely a step in the right direction. We enjoyed Child of Light a great deal, and the Xbox 360’s offerings are pretty solid, especially with the inclusion of Assassin’s Creed IV and Gears of War: Judgment. We just wish Microsoft would offer more AAA games for Xbox One owners like they did last month with Rayman Legends.
