ZDNet has an article talking about how quality of the actual CPUs may suffer in Intel & AMD's crazy race for faster processors. This because of the recent Pentium3 recall where Intel failed to check their top of the line CPU with certain applications, which they normally would.

MMmm, lemme see. I just bought a Celeron 566 which I'm currently running at 108MHz FSB. As Seen on TV (tm), you can have this for $1000 $850 $600, no, no, no. All this for the low, low introductory price of $104!

The reason that the intel 1.13 gig comps were recalled was because of the careless marketing team at intel. The testers told the marketing team flat out that they should not ship the chip at that point, due to that bug, but marketing just HAD to beat AMD in getting 1.13 gig out first. Damn marketing bastards!!
