Still Looking for DNF Programmer

by Maarten Goldstein, Aug 30, 2000 3:02pm PDT

George Broussard from 3D Realms updated his .plan file saying they are still looking for a fourth programmer to add to the Duke Nukem Forever project. Now there's even referral fee ($2000) if you know anyone who fits their description and gets hired. All Unreal-engine experienced programmers fluent in C/C++ check the .plan.

  • I'm in no position to impugn any game programmer or company, but DNF has IMHO taken too long to finish and is now past it's prime release period. I for one have lost interest and will not buy it as soon as it hits shelves, unless it reaches them by this X-mas. Why? because as Development time increases, so does my skepticism as to the overall quality of the game. Faulty logic perhaps, but I can't shake it and I venture many of you can't either.

I was a HUGE Duke 3D fan, but the prospects of a top notch game coming out in 2001-2 with a 3-4 year old engine (that has shown itself to suck on the most popular 3D cards) just isn't good.

I'm still rooting for it to rock, but I'm gonna wait for reviews before I buy.
