Xbox One games can now be purchased from the Xbox 360

Xbox 360 owners who want to build up their Xbox One library can proceed to do so directly from their console.

Xbox 360 owners can start building up their Xbox One game library directly from their console through Microsoft’s Games with Gold program, the company announced today.

Xbox 360 users can add Xbox One games to their library simply by accessing the special Games with Gold section on the console’s homepage. Once the section is accessed, you can then add Xbox One games to your library, which will become available to play once you purchase an Xbox One.

This feature was previously accessible via the web, but having it available directly from the Xbox 360 homepage is a logical next step. It’ll also help Xbox 360 owners who plan on purchasing the Xbox One in the near future take advantage of the free games Microsoft makes available each month, like this month’s Rayman Legends.

I kind of don't understand the reason for this feature other than hoping that people that have 360s and not XB1s mistakenly buy games for a system that they don't own.

I wonder if someone actually does make this mistake, will M$ give those people a refund.

Hmm, why is this available? Makes no sense, unless the data shows that theirs still a huge customer base than owns both and they simply want to make things convenient for those folks.

If you logged into Xbox Live online on your pc, you could buy them for Xbox one even if you didn't own one previously, this just saves me logging in once a month really.
