Microsoft is set to kick off the new month's Games with Gold on the first of March, but one the free offerings has actually arrived early, just in time for the weekend. Rayman Legends on Xbox One is now available to download for free if you're an Xbox Live Gold member.

Even before Rayman Legends made the leap to next-gen consoles, it was a big favorite with Shacknews. It reviewed extremely well and went on to populate Shacknews' Best of 2013 list at #9.

It should be noted that the first of the Xbox 360 games to go free to Gold members, Square Enix's Tomb Raider, remains with its $19.99 price tag as of this writing. That price drop will take effect tomorrow.

Rayman Legends can be found on the Xbox Store.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
