Watch Sid Meier and Firaxis construct vessels in Sid Meier's Starships

Now that fans have had a first glimpse at Sid Meier's Starships, now Sid Meier and Firaxis are offering a look at how to build the ideal starship.

Firaxis and Sid Meier offered a first look at Sid Meier's Starships a few weeks ago, so now it's time to get to the meat of the package. During last week's Twitch stream, Firaxis and Meier dove into the process of building customized starships.

Meier not only delves on ships designed for exploration and flight, but he also goes into bolstering the vessel with weapons, armor, shields, and other modules that are designed to keep it running. After constructing an initial fleet, Firaxis goes into some of the interaction with alien planets and its denizens. He then demonstrates some of the game's combat on Hard difficulty, making sure to note how environmental pieces like asteroids will affect conditions.

Look for another aspect of the game to get shown off later this week on Twitch. Sid Meier's Starships will hit PC, Mac, and iPad later this year.
