Dying Light forum now open for modding ideas

Remember that post earlier this week about Dying Light's latest patch restricting mods? That was not Techland's intention and they are proving this by opening a forum dedicated to player mod ideas.

Earlier this week, Shacknews reported that Dying Light's 1.2.1 patch would inadvertantly restrict mods for the PC version, which caused something of an uproad in modding circles. Techland quickly doused this fire by coming out in support of the modding community and now the studio is taking the next step by personally inviting modders to submit their ideas for Dying Light mods.

Techland has opened up a dedicated forum for modders to offer up their mod suggestions. The studio also notes that they are currently working on free modding tools for Dying Light, which are estimated to be available soon.

Our recent Dying Light review lauded Techland for its improvements from the Dead Island series, so the idea of player-created mods can only be a good thing. If this thread is any indication, the community doesn't appear to be short on ideas.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
