Hmmm...maybe a retro ST game with Kirk, Spock & McCoy would hold some cheesy interest. Green skinned alien babes; 60s-era teach-the-earth-to-sing optimism. Scotty and physics. Uhura's ass.

But the modern ST franchise stuff (on the tube) looks like corporate America in space. It couldn't get more bland. Hope the game's better than the show...

Funny, either

a) Ominous FTP is hammered by all the Shack Pron Lovers (probable)

Okay, my thoughts on this game, as forseen through the demo content.

1. Singleplayer will be neat, and replayable. Raven's interruptable scripting technology may prove to be an awsome tool.

2. Gameplay-wise multiplayer is almost an exact copy of Q3. Not good.

3. One of the unique sellings points of the Star Trek franchise is to finally incorporate a true 'tour mode' or fullship walkthru. This feature will not be in the retail version, and more than likely not be in an expansion pack for this title either. For the core Trek fans, who are ultimately supporting this game, this is not good. Even though this has been asked for all throughout the development cycle, Raven will wait and see if sales are good before putting something like this together.

4. It will be interesting to see exactly what the strongest component of this game will be (authentic level design, innovative gameplay, seeing the creative use of bolt-ons and scripting technology).

Raven Software ownz. Soldier of Fortune rocked for single-player, and so shortly after, this game goes gold! Plus they also don't seem to be big on delays, with each game coming out surprisingly fast.
