There are going to be a lot of new Wii U and 3DS owners this holiday season, and Nintendo has published checklists for these holiday newbies to enjoy their new consoles to the fullest.

The holidays are here, which means you or someone you know may be receiving a video game console of some sort. If you happen to be the happy owner of either a Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo has published a “Welcome” checklist that will get you better acquainted with your new bundle of joy.

There are two separate checklists for both the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS that offers 10 items new owners of either system to perform in order to get the most out of each system. Nintendo recommends new users of both systems connect them to the Internet, although each checklist has different suggestions. For example, creating a Mii and adding someone of your friends list are just two of the recommendations for the Wii U, while 3DS users are recommended to check out the Nintendo eShop to download a free demo as well as visiting the Theme Shop to purchase a new theme.

While I’m sure most Shack readers know what they should be doing with their new Nintendo Wii U or 3DS, these checklists could be helpful to others who may not be aware what they can do with either console. If you’re giving either of these consoles as a gift, printing these checklists and including them with the gift could be a great way to introduce your friends or family to the Wii U or 3DS.
