It's been nearly three years since Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 release on the Nintendo DS. Now publisher Atlus is looking to re-visit their beloved JRPG series with a special re-mastered version set to come to the Nintendo 3DS. This enhanced edition will go under the title Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker.

Record Breaker will feature full English dialogue, as well as a whole new episode that takes place after the final day of the original game. Atlus is estimating that the new content will roughly double the length of the original game. Given that the original game was roughly estimated to be about 30 hours, Record Breaker looks to keep fans busy for quite a while.

Those unfamiliar with Devil Survivor 2 picks up where the original game left off. The story sees a mysterious website emerge, showing people video previews of their deaths. Shortly after, an apocalypse breaks out and it's up to a hardened group of allies to discover the mystery behind everything.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker is expected to release on 3DS in early 2015 for a higher-than-average $49.99. For more, check out the trailer below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
