As much fun as it is to ride out, crash horribly, and eat dirt in hilarious fashion in Trials Fusion, that's the kind of activity that's best shared with friends. You know, so you can point and laugh at them as they ride out, crash horribly, and eat dirt. With that said, Ubisoft has announced that Trials Fusion will be getting online multiplayer next year as a free update.

Online multiplayer will be supported for up to eight riders on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, while the Xbox 360 will get support for four players. New modes will see players compete in Online X-Supercross (in which the best score after three random tracks wins) and Private Game sessions with or without spectators. The latter will see the spectators select the tracks for the eight competing players, which can be broadcast on platforms like Twitch.

Those that can't wait for the early 2015 deployment of this new feature may not necessarily have to. PC users can check out the online multiplayer beta right now.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
