Given Ubisoft's recent woes with bug-filled launches, it never hurts to be a little more careful with their next big release. So the publisher is lining up an open beta weekend for their upcoming racer, The Crew, just before the holiday weekend. The open beta will run from November 25-27 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The open beta will open up the Midwest and East Coast regions of the vast United States map and allow users access to Street and Dirt cars. PvP lobbies will be available all weekend, though Ubisoft indicates that Xbox Live and PlayStation Plus memberships will be required for multiplayer sessions.

The Crew is set to start its engines on December 2 on the aforementioned next-gen consoles, as well as PC. For more, check out the latest trailer below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
