Grand Theft Auto 5 will have first-person mode in PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions

Grand Theft Auto 5 is about to get more personal now that it'll have a first-person mode.

Rumors of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 having a first-person mode have just been confirmed today as Rockstar has released screenshots and a trailer.

The announcement was made on IGN where they have a trailer showing off Grand Theft Auto 5 in FPS mode. The trailer, which you can see for yourself in this post, shows each character performing a number of activities which include driving, flying aircrafts, and shooting anything and everything, all in a first-person perspective. Needless to say, this new mode will offer quite a unique experience for those who plan on picking up the upcoming version of GTA 5.

  I probably wouldn't play the main game in first-person, but I can guarantee I'll be switching to it every time I enter a vehicle.

  Christ, this lends itself so well to first person. I always thought they should have made GTA4 on the PC in first person. This looks fucking amazing.

    there was a mod for it. Being based on a third person game, it had full body awareness built in which was pretty cool. It just nailed your view to Nico's head. Was a bit janky still. This looks like it was meant to be played that way

    I've always loved the third-person perspective of the GTA games, but I certainly appreciate that they are going to include the option for first person this time around . I would hate for them to make it first person only though.

  I don't know what to think about this! It looks like it's gonna be difficult to be aware of your surroundings, but that's just my impression from a action-stuffed video with a viewpoint I'm not controlling.

    Yeah -- it looks like a fun thing to check out, but you'll definitely be switching back to third-person to actually play the game. ;)

        Friends playing on each. I had it on 360 first, then bought it digitally on PSN since I had an SSD in my PS3, and it significantly improved the load times / character switch times.
