Indie developer Full Control is ready to take a second crack at the Space Hulk franchise. Their second effort, Space Hulk: Ascension, now has a release date and will touch down on November 12. To celebrate, the studio is offering a pre-order discount, as well as an even lower price for owners of the previous Space Hulk game.

Space Hulk: Ascension is a 3D turn-based strategy game that revamps many of the board game mechanics of the original game. It also offers a slew of new content, with 103 new missions across three campaigns. Squads can now be upgraded with a new RPG progression system and can be equipped with new weapons and combi-weapons to prep for the fight against new Genestealer types.

Pre-orders are now available on Steam with early adopters getting 10 percent off. Those that own the original Space Hulk on Steam will get an additional 15 percent off.. For more on Space Hulk: Ascension, check out the behind-the-scenes video below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I heard really bad things about the original game. I own it from a fire sale, but...I'm unsure about this one.

These Full Control guys are also doing the new Jagged Alliance. I bought that on the name but also haven't played it. :|

It's nowhere near as bad as its made out to be and theyve fixed a lot of the launch bugs. Give it a shot!
