Zojoi isn't quite finished with the Shadowgate reboot just yet. They're adding a slew of new features with a new update, including a special Halloween side quest.

Shadowgate completed its long journey from Kickstarter campaign to full-blown release in August, but developer Zojoi isn't finished with their faithful reboot just yet. The studio announced a new update for the game that will add some new features, as well as celebrate the Halloween holiday with a special side-quest.

The Dread Pumpkin Quest sends players to the outskirts of Castle Shadowgate in search of a mysterious Halloween spirit. Beyond this side-quest, the update will also add several improvements, many of which have been requested by the game's community. They include improved tutorials, a new wheel-based command system, quick-loading, and a new IronMan difficulty mode.

There's a (very) brief overview of some of Shadowgate's new features in the video below. Shadowgate is also on sale this weekend on Steam for 40% off.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
