Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

This level was so great back in the day. Also Assault on the Control Room. I'm surprised at how crisp and modern it looks.

Did they upgrade Halo CE as well (i.e., upgrade the already upgraded game on 360)?

My problem, David, is that I've played these games too many damned times. Halo at least 3 times, perhaps 4. Halo 2 twice. Halo 3 twice. Reach twice. Halo 4 once. ODST lol

Maybe I'll play the 8K remaster on Xbox Two.

David, as a member of the Xbox Defense Force, do you believe they will release stand-alone, digital versions of these games? For example, Halo 2.

We must set our feud aside and wrap ourselves in the bonds of camaraderie for the good of Shacknews.com.

That, and I don't "hate" Halo! The series simply never grabbed me. I played the first two and found them just okay.

A slight correction: while I do prefer to play FPS games on PC, I don't doubt myself as one of the Master Race. I hate that elitist bullshit. The issue was that, by the time Halo came out (and I was required to hump it's leg daily as part of IGN's Xbox team), I was burned out on the genre. My FPS fatigue is even worse now that's it's become even more homogenized.

I'm pretty sure size 40 pants are a requirement for Master Race entry.

That's where I was on Halo. I found them a competent effort. Then I went back to playing Terra Nova. 5 years in the past.

OH RLY? "One concept introduced in Halo: Combat Evolved, is limiting the number of weapons players could carry to two, forcing them to carefully select their preferred armament."
Because Rainbow Six hadn't come out 3 years prior. Or again, Terra Nova, 5 years prior.

You don't have to play from the start. All the games and their levels are unlocked from the start in Halo MCC.

Oh, that's not what I meant. It's more like I liked the games so much and I've played many of them so recently, it's not really as exciting. Although I would like to play Halo 2 remastered.

You guys should play in coop mode. Yeah, halo is a good single player game, but I think it's much better coop and that the game originally shipped with split screen coop made it easier to forgive flaws.

A bit, but it's still hard as fuck. I had Halo CE on PC when it was originally released, and even with M+KB there were levels that could be hair-pullingly challenging.

I'd like to play it on PC too, but that won't happen, at least until Microsoft feels they've used it to move a substantial quantity of consoles. And by all accounts, they REALLY need to move consoles.
