Carbine Studios, creators of Wildstar, an sci-fi themed MMORPG is reportedly experiencing a round of layoffs today, as confirmed by an official statement by publisher NCsoft. Although no official numbers have been released, it is rumored that up to 60 employees are being let go, including Chief Client Engineer Bitwise, who bid his farewell via Twitter.

The news comes a week after Wildstar was transferred over to megaservers, but clues leading up to the layoff might be found in how holiday events were canceled this year, reportedly due to quality concerns.
