Super Smash Bros. Wii U getting live Nintendo Direct this week

A live Nintendo Direct will be taking place later this week that will focus on "50 new things" we probably didn't know about Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be the focus of an upcoming livestream event, Nintendo has announced today.

The livestream will take place later this week, on October 23 at 6pm ET / 3pm PT and is said to focus on “50 new things” regarding Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Considering there are 50 new things we yet don’t know about Super Smash Bros. for Wii U isn’t surprising as Nintendo has been pretty quiet in regards to content for the upcoming brawler. The company has regularly been releasing information regarding stages and select characters within its roster, but on the other hand, they’ve been rather quiet when discussing game modes. Which is exactly why hearing Amazon leaking the inclusion of custom stages and a “board game mode” was quite surprising.

The close it gets to release, the less I'm interested in this game. There is something in my brain that makes it think this should have been released months ago.

I know, I feel the same way about every game. Ugh, why couldn't you have been released months ago, when you weren't done?!?!

Not that. it just feels like this game was on the verge of being released since the WiiU launched.

They did announce it at E3. E3 2011. It was the first game announced for it.

Right - they just announced it. They didn't even release a trailer for it until years later.

The 2011 announcement was just that. An announcement.

And then if that happens, people complain saying that it was released broken. You just can't win with gamers.

3ds version rocks. Can't wait to see what they've added to the Wii U version!
