Nyko's Modular Charge Station uses the USB ports on your PlayStation 4 to charge your DualShock 4 controllers.

The Nyko Modular Charge Station for PlayStation 4 is now available for sale, game accessories manufacturer Nyko Technologies has announced today.

The charge station is a completely wireless drop-and-go controller charging dock that is able to attach to the top of the PlayStation 4. It’s able to charge two DualShock 4 controllers at the same time within a compact and unobtrusive design inspired by the console’s minimal aesthetics. The way it does this is by securing itself to the console's front USB ports, meaning you won't need to plug the charge station into the wall. The charge station features soft LED icon lights that help you know the status of your controller’s charge.

The Nyko Modular Charge Station is available now for $24.99 at select retailers and is available in black and white.

I’ve used Nyko’s Charge Base for both the PS4 and Xbox One and I’ve really been looking forward to their modular charge station. I don’t have many power outlets left in my living room, so plugging their charging station directly onto my console to charge my controllers would be a really great option for me.

No problem! As I said in the article, I've used their PS4 and Xbox One charge stations and they're really easy to set up and use. Just drop them in when you need to recharge, and pick up a controller once it's fully charged.

Yeah I have one (I think it's theirs) where the PS4 controller kind of locks in and you press it to eject it back out and I've been very satisfied with it. With the battery on those not lasting much more than a long Destiny session I don't see how anyone doesn't have two controllers and a dock of some sort.

This thing almost makes me wish I didn't have my PS3 sitting on top of my PS4. ;)

Um... should you be doing that to begin with? I'm sure that's not good for either console.

Ah. Carry on then. I have the original PS3, and there's no way I'm putting that on my PS4.

looks cool but it takes up both and all USB ports on the thing. I also have a wireless headset thing that draws power from the USB too.

Yeah you buy a second controller to charge while playing with the other one.

I'm such a heel. I told myself I wasn't buying more controllers until they straighten that out, but somehow I've amassed four controllers for the stupid thing. lol
