Virtual racers already have their hands full with the releases of Forza Horizon 2 and DriveClub, but there are still a number of racing titles coming to the market this fall. One of which is Ubisoft’s The Crew, and today, the company released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming title.

The most recent gameplay trailer highlights vehicle customizations as you’ll be able to install various improvements to your vehicle to take advantage of whatever terrain they’re driving on. In the trailer, we see there’s a spec for performance, off-road, raid, circuit, and street. Each spec has their own pros and cons, so choosing the right one for the right moment will help ensure a driver’s success.

The Crew is expected to be released on December 2, 2014 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PC platforms.

It's a kart racer with 5 driving presets and MMO-style progression.

Every car starts off shit by default and can be linearly upgraded with parts that increase numbers that improve driving.

Basic driving model is close to Burnout, but more floaty and loose, so as to make progression feel "meaningful."

The story is an absurd mix of NfS Rivals' ultra grit and all the pathos of a UbiSoft game.

The whole trailer was pre-rendered with in-game assets. The game doesn't look like that.

There will be micro-payment currency similar to Forza's hated (and rightfully abandoned) tokens.

The beta tests were incredibly disappointing and I'm aware this post sounds a bit like The Crew killed my dog. I just fear this'll be DriveClub again. Maybe don't pre-order this one. Wait for reviews.

Wat, when I played the beta the game looked like that trailer.

And I had great fun in the beta, played it almost nonstop while it was up. Super fun to play with a couple of friends.

It doesnt have the best driving model but its fun as hell playing with friends.

Thanks for the info. I like the Burnout and Need For Speed Hot Pursuit floaty and loose driving so I'm not really impacted by that. The micro transactions seem a bit scummy but hopefully they took that feedback to heart.

Gameplay videos confirm it visually looks great...

I should be reviewing The Crew for Shacknews. If you've seen my reviews for Forza Horizon 2 and DriveClub, I think I was pretty spot on with the pros and cons of each game.

Are you going to try and review all racing games in the future?
I think you were entirely too lenient on DriveClub, but it's okay because it's your opinion. We'll see about The Crew. If it turns out great you won't hear me complaining.
