Halo: Spartan Strike coming to Windows devices and Steam this December

A new Halo game will be coming to Windows devices and Steam, but it may not be the kind of Halo game you're looking for.

Fans of Microsoft’s Halo series will be receiving an additional title outside of the already announced Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Today, Microsoft announced the spiritual successor to Halo: Spartan Assault called Halo: Spartan Strike.

As reported by IGN, Halo: Spartan Strike will first be made available on Windows devices and Steam, which is Spartan Assault is any indication, its release on Xbox consoles will be some time later. The game will be set during the events of Halo 2 and will offer a number of improvements over Spartan Assault that include improved controls, new abilities, enemies, and vehicles.

Spartan Strike is expected to retail for $5.99 and will include a total of 30 missions to complete. Those who purchase the game on a Windows platform, such as Windows Phone, PC and tablets, owners of the game will be able to download the game across multiple devices and earn Xbox Live achievements as well. Purchases on Steam, on the other hand, won’t qualify for this promotion.
