PlayStation Vita has proven to be a fine go-to platform for indie studios. Green Lava Studios and Reverb both kept that idea in mind when announcing that their tough-as-nails platformer, Fenix Rage, would make the jump to Sony's handheld early next year.

Fenix Rage sees players utilizing precision jumps and air dashes to proceed through four worlds as quickly as possible. There are numerous obstacles and you'll often find yourself starting over, much in the Super Meat Boy tradition.

Fenix Rage has an addictive pull, as our preview can attest to. Those that would rather not wait for the Vita version to hit can pick up the PC version right now on Steam.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
