Sega's two Sonic Boom games had been slated a week apart, but Sega has changed those plans. Instead, the company has announced that the Wii U game Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric will be released on November 11, the same day as the 3DS Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal. Rise of Lyric had been planned for November 18.

Both of these are part of a relaunch effort for the blue hedgehog, and will accompany a Cartoon Network show premiering this fall. The two games aren't being helmed by Sonic Team, but have instead been handed to western developers Big Red Button (Rise of Lyric) and Sanzaru Games (Shattered Crystal). We've already expressed some concern about this latest attempt to revitalize the classic character, but we'll be able to make the call on how well it works in a few months.
