Ever since Rock Band suspended its weekly DLC releases nearly 18 months ago, the beloved music game from Harmonix has seen its content slowly wither away with each expired license. However, the Rock Band Network was still there, pumping out the last vestiges of new content. Sadly, this will no longer be the case.

"After 4 years, 2,121 songs, and countless hours of investment from some of the most talented and passionate Rock Band fans around, it's time for the sun to (officially) set on Rock Band Network," announced Harmonix community development manager Aaron Trites on the Rock Band forums.

Trites cited growing technical issues, noting that many of Rock Band Network's problems were outside of Harmonix's control. While no further submissions will be accepted, current Rock Band Network tracks will remain available for download.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Tell me something: how come someone who can't use proper capitalization and punctuation properly, tells someone else how to type? :)
