Skylanders Trap Team is getting ready to flip its world upside down by allowing Portal Masters the ability to use enemies captured within the game to do your bidding through the use of a special material known as Traptanium. In addition to experiencing an all-new Skylanders adventure, Trap Team will also include a tower defense mode called “Kaos Doom Challenge.”

Kaos Doom Challenge will challenge Portal Masters to wave after wave of minions to combat, with each wave increasing its difficulty. You’ll be able to build defensive towers as well as battle Kaos’ minions with any Skylanders in your collection, including minions that have been trapped from the Trap Team campaign. The tower defense mode will also have a “Mystery Box of Doom,” which contains huge minions to fight.

We already expected Trap Team to offer a lot of replayability, but including a tower defense mode that challenges players to fight through increasingly difficult waves of enemies seems like it'll add even more replayability. It might also spark even more interest in picking up new Skylanders toys to help make it through all of the waves, furthering Activision's plot to sell buckets of toys.
