Super Smash Bros. fans who are counting the days until its 3DS debut will have something to look forward to in the very near future as Nintendo has announced a demo will become available starting today for some, and next week for all.

Starting today, Nintendo will be sending out codes for the Super Smash Bros. 3DS demo to select Club Nintendo Platinum members, which will include a total of four codes for those who receive them to do with them what they wish.

As for when the demo will become available to all Nintendo 3DS owners, the company says it’ll be available on the 3DS eShop on September 19.

We hope you’ve been registering your Nintendo games and hardware in order to become a Platinum member. If not, then we hope you have a friend who has been a good Nintendo fan this year.

Awwwww yeah. Got the demo and played a couple games, had to stop to do other stuff but i'm definitely going to play a few more matches later. The game's awesome, I can't wait for the the full game.

5 chars, 1 stage, locked at 2min. Megaman is like Samus but from another mother.

It's limited, but still pretty fun. I was going to get the game anyway, but I was concerned that the 3DS controls would be bothersome, but after the playing the demo I know that they work fine. I also got to try one of my favorite newcomers, the Villager, and he's as awesome as I thought he'd be.

Yup. I was dubious about a 3ds version, and this demo was enough to persuade me that it's going to be solid. So 3ds and Wii U versions for me!
