Kickbeat dances its way to Wii U and PS4 next week

Smack foes around while getting down to the beat in Zen Studios' latest.

Last year, the music/rhythm action game Kickbeat left quite a mark on the PS3 and Vita, with its combination of beat-em-up tactics and rhythm action to feel like something truly unique. Its soundtrack was something else too, between such fast-paced tunes as Celldweller's "Switchback" and Pre-Fight Hype's "It's Going Down."

Next week, the series returns, this time making its current-gen debut on Wii U and PlayStation 4 with Kickbeat: Special Edition. The game will release on September 16th for PS4, and two days later on the Wii U.

The soundtrack will remain completely intact, but there's no word what additional content will be featured in the Special Edition just yet. The game will not be compatible with cross-buy, so PS4 owners will need to fork over $9.99 for the new version, even if they bought previous ones.

In the meantime, enjoy this wonderful round of "Switchback" from the previous gen release.
