Crytek’s Ryse was previously exclusive to Microsoft’s Xbox One, but we learned just last month the title will be making its way to PC later this fall. Since then, PC gamers have been wondering when they’ll get their turn with the action title as well as what kind of specs will Ryse require in order to get the same experience as Xbox One owners, or better. The wait to learn those very important details wasn’t too long as Steam has just revealed Ryse will launch on October 10 as well as what kind of specs it’ll require.

The PC version of Ryse will support 4K resolution at its launch and will include all DLC packs that have been released since its release on Xbox One. That includes the Colosseum Pack, the Morituri Pack, the Mars’ Chosen Pack and the Duel of Fates Pack. You’ll also be given instant access to the Ruins multiplayer map as well as the Legionnaire’s Trust sword, both of which were only available in the Xbox One special edition.

Last, but certainly not least, here’s what you’ll need in order to enjoy Ryse at its minimum settings as well as recommended specs:

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7 or Windows 8 (64bit)
  • Processor: Intel Dual-Core 2.8 GHz/ AMD Dual-Core 3.2 GHz or better
  • Memory: 4GB RAM
  • Graphics: DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB video RAM
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Hard Drive: 26GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible Sound Card with latest drivers

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7 or Windows 8 (64bit)
  • Processor: Intel Quad-Core or AMD Octo-Core
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: DirectX 11 graphics card with 4GB video RAM
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Hard Drive: 26GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible Sound Card with latest drivers

Somehow I do not think this will have the impact Crytek was hoping for. I hope it ends up being profitable for them.

I was about to make some snarky comment about how no one on the PC will give a shit about Ryse, but then your comment reminded me that I actually need this to do well for Crytek because of the Homefront IP.

It's a shame because it's certainly a good game with impressive visuals, but its overall story is quite "meh."

So Dead Rising is out tomorrow and Ryse is out later this month. Guess I'll finally go pick up a XBox One controller for my PC and enjoy some of these XBox One exclusives!!

Anyone else find it odd that they can take a console game and 'dumb' it down to run on a dual core cpu? What are they breaking to get the engine to do that? And, what impacts to the 4 core pipeline is this having (ie. the majority of core gamers). I mean, unless the engine was already designed with that in mind, and the game built around those possible limitations, it just seems like they would have to tinker with the game to get it to run on PCs that end up being less powerful than a console and thus even a high end PC would/could suffer.

I know this isn't the first port to have this dual core min, but it's the first time this crossed my mind.

Well even their Xbox One game was based on their established engine and years of R&D, which is designed to scale. I imagine they made use of that.
