It's not too uncommon to see some interesting relics unearthed from the 80's. Heck, just ask Microsoft, as it previously dug up a New Mexico landfill to confirm that, yes, Atari did bury millions of copies of E.T. the Extra Terrestrial and other items.

However, a new gem has since appeared, in the form of a promotional song for Atari's old Dig-Dug game that was put together by none other than the master of the Twist, Chubby Checker.

The song, uploaded to Soundcloud this week, was uploaded by Matt Osborne, the son of an Atari ex-vice president. Apparently, dear ol' dad played the song for his son well before its release.

"I remember my father being extra excited that Chubby was involved in the project and had great things to say about having met him," Osborne explained to IGN.

The song was originally intended to be used in a commercial for a 1983 home release, but was somehow replaced by one with an unrecognizable band. There's no word as to why this wasn't used. Maybe people didn't, ahem, dig it?

Anyway, check out the song below.
