Firewatch trailer braves the wilderness

Step into the mystery, and danger of the Wyoming wilderness in Campo Santo’s first video game release.

PAX has brought a notable amount of attention to several new titles this year, and with the oncoming surge of holiday releases it’s easy to lose ourselves in the excitement. Although is isn’t due for release until sometime in 2015, Campo Santo’s first game Firewatch has definitely piqued some interest with its recently released reveal trailer.

The trailer sets the game up for a dark undertone; a plot layered with mystery and exploration throughout the vast wilderness of Wyoming. Your only connection to civilization is through a small handheld radio. The visuals have a breathtaking sense of beauty, with an emphasis on exploration, and a story that's looking to break the hearts of gamers everywhere. Firewatch releases for the PC, Mac and Linux in 2015.

One might think that a Shacknews article on this game would mention that the attached video's score was composed by this website's former editor-in-chief.

That should definitely be stated. Chris Remo may have numerous ties through the multiple owners that have had this site since he left over 5 years ago. We have to be careful, he may know or even talk to someone affiliated with the games industry.

We should also take any games made by Double-Fine or former Irrational employees with a grain of salt two as he undoubtedly spoke to them and could be the middle man for many back-door deals.

Don't think he was implying anything improper. Just that Chris was an important part of this site.

Oh! Sorry. I think I've been reading too much internet garbage and my brain has warped.

              Sorry :(

It was supposed to be. I misread the intent of Wisp!'s post. I'm an idiot.

You um... Kinda of took that to a dark place for some reason. I think Wisp meant it in a positive way... Meaning Remo deserves the mention!

That looks way more expansive and detailed than what I was expecting. Pretty impressive for only 5 dudes.

The robot is writing the code that will activate the killer robots once someone has completed the game.

Yes, Sean Vanaman, Jake Rodkin, Chris Remo, Jane Ng, Olly Moss, Nels Anderson and Will Armstrong. Seven people so far, but I'm sure they will get more insanely great talent there as time goes along.
