Update: Additional information, including the reveal of Saints Row: Re-Elected, have been added.

Volition has revealed their latest project and it's a new standalone project for Saints Row IV. It will star Johnny Gat, who will once again find himself in the world of the dead in Saints Row: Gat out of Hell. He'll be looking to save the series' badass main character after he finds himself sucked into the underworld after a Ouija board accident, because of course he does.

The announcement was made during Volition's PAX Prime panel, which revealed that Gat would be taking on Satan, himself. The standalone will come to all of Saints Row 4's current platforms, as well as Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It's set to release on January 27 for $19.95.

Of course, Volition and Deep Silver don't want Xbox One and PS4 owners to feel left out of the rest of the Saints Row fun, so they also announced Saints Row: Re-Elected for the next-gen consoles. This version of the game will include the base game, all of the DLC, and the Gat out of Hell expansion. This will be priced at $49.99.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
