A new update to Steam will allow for a feature that makes it easier for those of you who like downloading multiple games at once.

As detailed by Steam Databases, this new feature lets you download multiple games at once, through consecutive installs. Games can be selected through a checkbox interface. The update should be available now, so be sure to download it and check it out.

So all they did was lift the restriction they put on it a few years ago and add a checklist for installs.

The ability to remote-install was added last year. They've just added a list mechanism now. So you're half correct.

Where did you get remote install from? I'm referring to the fact that you used to be able to download multiple games at once up until a couple years ago.

This is part of the remote install update. It's remote multi-game installation.

Though, of course, it also works locally. That's what I meant about you being correct; Local multi-game installation was allowed in the past, but remote installation is new.

Does it actually install the games? Do the redistributables when I tell you to install it steam.

thats a microsoft thing IIRC. its required to prompt the user for the MS redists for some legal reason for any game that uses them. its dumb as fuck.

I just wish steam asked me when I installed them instead of when I try to play.
