Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition will run at 1080p on consoles

A day-one patch will assure that Blizzard's latest release is up to peak performance.

Last month, Blizzard stated that the Xbox One version of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition would run at a lesser resolution on Xbox One, sitting at 900p while the PlayStation 4 version runs at 1080p. After a bit of outcry from the community, though, the publisher has opted to change its tune.

Blizzard has confirmed that it will release a day-one patch alongside physical and digital versions of the game that will transfer it to the same 1080p level as its PlayStation 4 counterpart.

This is good news, on top of the fact that, earlier this week, the publisher confirmed that those folks who own previous versions of Diablo III for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be able to transfer their data to the newer versions of the game with no problem, with PS3 to PS4 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One, obviously.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition will launch on August 19th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, along with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

You'll actually be able to transfer from Xbox 360 to PS4 and from PS3 to Xbox One, too.

However I cannot find a confirmation if PS3 and PS4 are crossplay w/ the servers or even account.

Nice, I am getting the PS4 version. It will be cool to have a permanent offline version of D3 + ROS that I can play forever.

Wish I could go PS4 but it's PS3 for me and I'll still love it!

1080p is good but what about 60fps?

i'm pretty excited for this, D3 felt like it would be way more at home on a console.

oh haven't decided, probably ps4 doesn't seem like the xbox is really of any use besides titanfall once in a while. i like the ps4 experience overall a bit better but i do love the xbox controller

I'm mixed. I have the PC version. I haven't purchased the expansion yet. I haven't finished the PC version yet. I'm not sure if I'll get the PS4 version right away or at all.

i bought the pc version but didn't like it, it felt more like a console game and the auction house was awful. i think i played 3-6mos after release then shelved it but this really sounds like it'll be a great experience. sucks i cant transfer characters or anything but oh well.

I've only gotten to Act II, so I'm not that bummed about not being able to move PC characters over. That said, I would have liked the option.

I have yet to play a deep game on the PS4 that requires a bunch of time to put into it. I'm wondering if the relatively short battery life of the controllers is going to become a pain in the arse. I could see if a better battery is available. I've already replaced the sticks with Xbox One sticks (works awesome). ... I'll take a look for a replacement battery that won't force me to McGyver a battery (no soldering or wire snipping).

the ps4 3hr battery life is sofaking stupid. let me know what you figure out with regards to extending battery life, although i suppose just getting a longer USB cable would suffice as well.

True. Right now, I've got two controllers, so I switch off between the two. All the replacement batteries I've found on Ebay or Amazon are shipped from Singapore or China. I saw a "do not leave exposed to heat" warning and had visions of the thing exploding in my hands. I'm just going to forget about it for a while. Maybe I'll look back into it when a reputable manufacturer has something out. Until then, I'd rather not take the risk.
