Peggle 2 has certainly been keeping us busy since its release on Xbox One last year and Xbox 360 earlier this year, with all new characters and challenges to overcome with the drop of a single ball. However, it doesn't appear that PopCap Games is done yet with the franchise, as a new sequel is already in the works.

During its first quarter 2015 earnings call, Electronic Arts confirmed the existence of a new Peggle project, but didn't go into detail about when it would be coming, or for which platforms. "A much-anticipated new Peggle game from PopCap is moving through a test period in preparation for launch," said CEO Andrew Wilson. The game will reportedly be a part of EA Mobile's push with new releases, which also includes a new Madden game for tablet and phone devices.

There's the possibility that the game could be an enhanced port of Peggle 2, one that could even make its way to PlayStation platforms, like Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is doing next month. Until we hear from PopCap, though, your guess is as good as ours.
