With San Diego Comic-Con inching closer by the minute, Fox and developer TinyCo are hoping to grab a piece of the action with a new update to their iOS game, Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff. Appropriately enough, the update will center around a comic convention and will feature a number of celebrity cameos.

The update will center around Comic-Con International setting a new comic convention in Quahog. After Stewie becomes Octopus Stewie, Quahog assembles an army to protect the town, with guest cameos Patrick Stewart, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, George Takei, Felicia Day, Stan Lee, and Nathan Fillion all stepping in to help train the Griffins to become superheroes. The update will feature some special loot over the course of the story.

The Comic-Con Event update will hit Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff on July 24 for iOS and July 31 for Android. Hopefully, the update will be better than that time the Griffins went to that Star Trek convention.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
