NFL Sunday Ticket coming back to consoles

Watch football on your PS3, PS4, or Xbox One

NFL Sunday Ticket, the program that allows football fans to an all-you-can-eat buffet of season games, appears to be coming back to consoles as a standalone product.

AppleInsider (via Game Informer) uncovered a promotional page with package listings for the service. According to the report, both the NFLsundayticket.tv Console (239.99) and Max ($329.99) packages would allow for streaming on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Console package is restricted to consoles, while the Max package also includes the ability to stream to other devices like your PC or tablet. A standalone streaming package for those devices is also available for $199.99, but it's only available if you live in an area without DirecTV access.

NFL Sunday Ticket debuted on consoles with a PS3 version that cost roughly the same as the reported Max package. The following year it dropped the price slightly, but then console support vanished altogether. Last year's "Anniversary" version of Madden included a discount for those within range of DirecTV, and access to Sunday Ticket for those outside the range.

The promotional page is still up, but DirecTV hasn't issued a formal announcement yet.

No kidding. Bought madden, and sold it back to best buy for 40 bucks. So it only cost me 20 bucks for the deal. the streaming was pretty shitty though imo.

Any word on whether the next Madden will also have that deal?

There's also 10 schools where if you're a student/grad student, you can get a discount and pay $150 for the digital package instead of $200.

Do they have a way of knowing if you're a student at one of those schools? Whats to stop someone from saying they are?

Too bad it's pretty limited in who can actually qualify for this stuff. I guess here's hoping next year when their deal is up it's a bit more wide-access.

They won't sell it to just everyone, you have to be in a non-serviceable area or specific metropolitan areas. Supposedly their agreement is up with the NFL after this season so maybe the streaming stuff gets better.

They dont even know if you are non serviceable or not. For the madden stuff last year it didnt even matter.

You have to enter an address to even qualify to sign up for the service!

that still doesnt matter. I did that and it doesnt matter. My apartment building could get service, but they dont know that.

When I tried last year, they said service was available in my area, so I didnt qualify.
They could probably verify it because other units in my 4-plex have service.
