The third generation of Pokemon games is in the middle of a major facelift and that's evidenced, once again, by the latest trailer for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The newest peek into the upcoming revivals shows some more spruced-up visuals, while also pulling the curtain back on a new Mega Evolution. Also, Pikachu is all dressed-up, because, sure, why not?

The new Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire video shows the visually overhauled Gym Leaders and Elite Four members, along with their Pokemon. To potentially aid trainers in their journey, the trailer also showed a new evolution for the Steel/Psychic Pokemon Metagross. Pokemon fansite Serebii.net has some more details, adding that it will utilize the Tough Claws ability (adding 33% damage to physical moves), while also packing a highly-increased Speed stat.

Finally, there's a new look at the returning Pokemon Contest feature and, like every other aspect of the game, is being modernized for new hardware. Not only will trainers be able to dress up their Pokemon and watch fully-animated sequences, but they can also keep those same Pokemon dressed up for use in the Pokemon-Amie system.

Combined with the new and improved Secret Bases, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are well on their way to being a Pokemon revival done right. Both games are set to release on Nintendo 3DS on November 21.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
