Ed Boon took the stage at this year's Evo, following the Injustice: Gods Among Us finals, to reveal the latest character for Mortal Kombat X. And it's a returning familiar face, because Raiden is back and ready to bring the thunder once more!

Raiden's familiar moves are all in place, including his lightning traps and teleports. The gameplay video that debuted in front of a captive Evo audience also showed off some of Raiden's different play styles. ANd of course, there was a new Fatality on display, as Raiden grabbed his opponent's head and shocked it until his eyeballs literally popped out of his head. He then ripped the head off its shoulders, tossed it in the air, and blew it up with a lightning shot.

Check out the shocking gameplay below!

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Do we know if they're going to have a single player movie style campaign like they did in MK9?

Not confirmed, but I'd have to think that's happening, for sure.

Did anyone else play the 2v2 tag mode in MK9? My friend and I had the most fun we've ever had with a fighter playing couch co-op tag matches online in that game. I was slaughtered that it was omitted from Injustice so I'm REALLY hoping they include that mode in MK10. It's a perfect "party" mode.
