Update: We've also gone ahead and added our E3 interview with creative director Mike Laidlaw. Enjoy!

Shacknews had a chance to check out Dragon Age: Inquisition at this year's E3. Now the public will get a chance to take a look at the 16-minute gameplay clip from this year's expo, which was released by BioWare this morning.

Creative director Mike Laidlaw walks players through the Inquisition world, showing off the game's combat in the Hinterlands region. Beyond that, it reveals some of the game's random encounters before jumping into the idea of switching between party members on the fly. The world is not only filled with wild creatures and roaming Templars, but there are dragons to be found on the horizon, too.

Watch the full clip below. Dragon Age: Inquisition arrives on PC and consoles on October 7.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I hope it's really, really good. It's the only AAA coming to PC this year that I am excited about.

Are you able to pause combat and issue commands as in Origins?

Yes. Based on other videos it may not be quite as robust as it was in DA:O.

Yeah, it seems influenced by Mass Effect. Judging from this video it looks like you're always expected to directly control one character while issuing orders to the others. The differences is that pause gives you access to an overhead view and that you can dynamically swap between which character you directly control.

Indeed. It seems less like pause and give orders and more like pause and change character. Although an earlier video did show a way to queue an order. But it didn't seem to stack them up.

Looks pretty good. I hope you can turn those flying numbers off though. They spilled some MMO in my CRPG.

I don't get the frostbite engine. It could be bright as hell outside, lens flare, glare, everything but if there's a tree/building/object casting the shadow, the shadow is almost pitch black.

Is there a version getting anything special at launch compared to the others? I seem to remember the Xbox getting extra content coming up at E3.

I wonder if they're going to include the NPC AI controls where you can program their actions, triggers and responses.
