Mountain peaks on App Store charts, PC and Android versions possible

Filmmaker David O'Reilly has found some success with his latest game, the mountain simulator simply called Mountain. The iOS mountain-creator has rocketed near the top of the App Store charts and has the creator mulling over PC and Android releases.

Filmmaker David O'Reilly has found some success with his latest game, the mountain simulator simply called Mountain. The iOS mountain-creator has rocketed to the top of the App Store charts, ranking at #5 in the United States, #1 in Germany, and hitting the top of the RPG category in 33 countries. This sudden success now has the creator mulling over PC and Android releases.

"We do want to release on Android & Steam," O'Reilly said on his website. (via Joystiq) "Android plugin for Unity is too expensive right now and we're working on Steam stuff. Please bear with us."

Mountain sees players answering a number of psychological questions at the start of the session. Players will answer with drawings in order to create a procedurally-generated mountain, before sitting back and watching nature unfold across every side of it. O'Reilly's effort quickly caught the attention of Double Fine, who helped bring it to the App Store as a $1 standalone game with no in-app purchases.

O'Reilly is best recognized as the visual artist behind the minigame featured in the film Her. He is also credited with the "A Glitch Is A Glitch" episode of Cartoon Network's Adventure Time.
