GTA Online adds July 4 celebrations

Grand Theft Auto Online has updated with a July 4 themed update that brings new vehicles, guns, properties, and fashions.

Just in time for America's birthday, Grand Theft Auto Online has updated with an Independence Day Special. Unlike boring real-life specials, it's not so much about discounts on mattresses as it is about weapons and overpowered vehicles. According to the announcement, the update includes a Sovereign motorcycle, Liberator monster truck, Musket, and Firework Rocket Launcher. It also opens up new properties in Paleto Bay and Vinewood Hills, adds some patriotic clothing and a mullet haircut, and lets you ride the Ferris Whale and roller coaster in Pleasure Pier. The holiday content will be available until mid-July. The update also includes some game balance updates, like an adjustment to on-call matchmaking. It will let you accept a job and keep playing Freemode until the job fills. Rockstar will also be hosting a four-day event to ring in the content over the weekend.
