FIFA 15 video cites 'Improved Visuals'

It's difficult to refine a series like FIFA every year, given that it's already considered to be the best soccer game on the market by a wide margin. So it appears that EA Sports is going to focus more on the visual side of the game for FIFA 15, the latest entry in the long-running soccer franchise, by showing off an enhanced visuals system.

So it appears that EA Sports is going to focus more on the visual side of the game for FIFA 15, the latest entry in the long-running soccer franchise, by showing off an enhanced visuals system.

FIFA 15 strives to create character models that appear as close to real-life players as possible, through improved tracking and an enhanced lighting system. EA Sports is also looking to toss in additional real-life qualities, such as real-time breathing and gradual dirt effects. Seeing is believing, so the studio has posted a new video, which can be seen below.

FIFA 15 will release this fall on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It will also come to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but likely without any of these visual improvements.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

It's still weird seeing stuff here about stuff I work on.

Take heart that FIFA is generally well respected. It's both surreal and very demoralizing when people are not receptive to your game. I worked for almost two years on Command & Conquer; it was difficult.

yeah - one of our friends worked on the latest SimCity. oof. he'd occasionally post blogs/things about it, then get buried with 'FUCK YOU YOUR GAME IS SHIT' comments

Yeah, I generally stay away from mentioning it. For this I worked on the new rain/snow system, particles, and cloth simulation (amongst other things).

I know you can't say anything and if you could, you'd be smart not to, but is the AI getting any work done on it? FIFA 14's AI was terrible in Pro Clubs.

Also, I realize FUT is the money-maker and what they focus on, but I liked Pro Clubs with my friends.

Absolutely. There's actually a pretty big team dedicated to gameplay exclusively.

I put a couple hours into the PC Fifaworld Beta and had quite a bit of fun. I mostly played SP cause I suck and haven't played video game soccer in 15 years. It's F2p so give it a try if you have the World Cup itch. My main issue is there's no training and I have no FIFA experience.

I'm waiting to see if they've improved the career mode and manager modes.
