Bayonetta 2 director 'would love' to keep working with Nintendo

Bayonetta doesn't seem to fit Nintendo's family-friendly norm, but Platinum Games is so pleased with the partnership that she might stay there. Bayonetta 2 director Yusuke Hashimoto has expressed interest in continuing to work with Nintendo for possible future installments.

"I feel that it's important to let your creativity flow and Nintendo has been able to provide us with the freedom to create what we had originally envisioned," Hashimoto told CVG. "We were able to have a lot of back-and-forth between Platinum Games and Nintendo and they were able to provide objective feedback; 'Maybe that's a little too much', or, 'maybe you should try this'. I feel that was really good and helped push Bayonetta 2 to even higher quality."

He said they started with a lot of freedom, but as it came together Nintendo "were able to point out some things that we didn't realize ourselves." Nintendo's contributions were apparently significant, given how his comments now treat Bayonetta 2 as if it was co-developed between them.

"In terms of nurturing the content of this game, there's a lot that we learned from Nintendo and if possible we would love to do it again and keep nurturing our child," he said.
