PlayStation Plus July line-up includes Strider, TowerFall Ascension, and more

Sony announced the June line-up for PlayStation Plus today to send you into the summer doldrums in style.

Sony has revealed the July line-up for PlayStation Plus, diving headfirst into the slow summer months. And they're fairly notable titles, too, offering something for just about everyone, whether they enjoy multiplayer romps or single-player adventures. In particular, the PlayStation 4 looks to have your summer needs met with its offerings. Check out the full list after the break. As a reminder, the system for free PlayStation Plus offerings changed in June. Eligible games will all hit at once on the first Tuesday of July and remain available for the entire month. Remember to mark your game as "purchased" to keep it on your account. The full list is taken from PlayStation Blog.

PlayStation 4

TowerFall Ascension TowerFall Ascension is the definitive version of the hit archery combat game.     (Although I don't mind giving money to TowerFall, because that game is incredible.)

  might be a stupid question, but can you use ps3 controllers on a ps4? Towerfall is something my wife might want to coop, but I don't want to buy another ps4 controller..

    Sadly, no. I feel your pain, because as soon as I pulled the trigger on it back in February, I made the sad realization that having four PS4 controllers would literally mean a $150+ investment.

  The pricing seems out of whack though. I would not be interested in a rental model like this.
  
  There has to be a better way of pricing these things. For one thing, after a few months for some of these games, you'd be able to buy the original console and the game (although I realize that's not the point).

  OK, can someone clarify something for me? I was told that with Sony's new scheduling for releasing games also comes with new restrictions. I read that we will only have access to play the games for the month they're available, unlike before where we simply needed to click "Purchase" and remain a PS+ member to have access indefinitely.
  
  Is this how it is now? I was planning on stockpiling PS4 and Vita games until I could afford the two consoles.

    Protip: you don’t have to download the game to your hard drive (or memory card) to gain the entitlement — you can also go to the web store, add them to your cart and check out. Once the game says “Purchased” below it when you’re logged in, you’ll be set for the future as long as you’re a PS Plus member.
